Pearse Coleman has never been too far removed from performing with his piano or guitar.
He is a real fan of singing the jazz classics on piano and if necessary can also liven things up with his guitar performances.
A few years ago he relocated family and instruments to Melbourne from the tourist city of Cairns where he had established a reputation for good performances including corporate events with regular gigs at the Apres Beach piano Bar in Palm Cove, Yorkeys Knob Boat Club, Cairns Reef Casino and others.
An experienced songwriter and performer who was first signed to CBS records eons ago, he has since independently released three CD’s of original compositions, DEVIL HEART, LIFE GOES ON and BARRATIME and about to go into production of his latest collection of works.
With his large repertoire and influences of many of the greats, including great songwriters Paul Simon, Jerome Kern, Sammy Kahn, Johnny Mercer, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles, Peter Allan, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Don Henley, Jose Feliciano, Stevie Wonder he still yearns to perform expand and grow in the performance world.
‘As a pianist or guitarist I am particularly fond of mixing it with blues, jazz, ballad and boogie which allows me to produce a playing and vocal style that makes the performance more entertaining and gutsy.
